What is Total Cost of Ownership?
TCO is an estimate that goes beyond just the purchase price; it considers the complete cost from purchase to disposal. This includes fuel consumption, operating and maintenance costs, tax credits, insurance premiums etc.
I already use TCO, why is yours better?
We are the only company that provides forward-looking TCO. Rather than estimating the total cost using historical data and sticker values, we run your actual duty cycles through our simulation system, giving you accurate results (within 4%).
Why should I trust your predictions?
Simulation modeling is our bread and butter. Our parent company, CrossChasm Technologies has been doing it since 2004, working with OEMs in designing better hybrid vehicles. Our client list includes General Motors, Magna, Canada Post, and the Toronto Transit Commission.
What's involved in the process?
- We ship you our CarChip data logger. This is a non-obtrusive chip that plugs into the On-board Diagnostics port usually located right under the dash. The installation takes about 20 seconds, and can be done by anyone.
- The vehicle is driven as it normally would be for approximately 3 weeks. The data then needs to be uploaded to our servers via a USB connection, which only requires a couple of minutes.
- You log into fleetcarma.com to view your reports.

Does your system work with heavy-duty vehicles?
Absolutely. Our system is compatible with Class 1-8 vehicles including bucket and refuse trucks.
