FleetCarma, a Geotab Company, today announced it will be settling into a new home in Kitchener-Waterloo’s IoT hub, Catalyst137. Moving from its current office location in Northeast Waterloo in early 2019, FleetCarma will be growing its presence in the KW area as the electric vehicle technology company faces rapid expansion.
The move brings leading electric vehicle technology to the heart of Kitchener-Waterloo tech community.
Following its recent acquisition by the Canadian company, Geotab, earlier this year, FleetCarma has since experienced increased growth amongst its staff-base as well as an increased global presence. With plans to onboard an additional 100 employees in the coming months, FleetCarma selected to expand its office space while maintaining roots in the Waterloo Region area.
“Embedded in Geotab’s acquisition of FleetCarma was an understanding of the immense talent and innovative culture that is present in Kitchener-Waterloo,” stated Matt Stevens, Geotab’s VP of Electric Vehicles and CEO of FleetCarma. “This expansion into Catalyst137 allows us to collocate with other globally-focused IoT firms and provides significant space for our growth plans.”
Catalyst137 brings together scaleup companies and the services and infrastructure – including manufacturing space – they need to grow, all in one 475,000 square-foot space. It’s already home to a number of fast-growing, innovative companies, including Miovision, which has worked closely with Geotab in the past.
“We are extremely excited to expand the team and to drive electric vehicle adoption globally, from K-W,” concluded Stevens.
